A vacation from a vacation. Yes, you heard me right! From awkward sleep schedules, hours of sightseeing and never-ending happy hours, your body needs time to readjust to reality. Post vacation detox per say! Well lucky you, Travelle has all you need to know to get your body back into your normal routine.
Get Back on a Sleep Schedule
Your body needs sleep and while getting back into your normal schedule is no easy task at first, it’s really important. Rest up and set a time to start mellowing down and head off to bed. If it’s hard to slow your brain at night, you’re not alone. Try a calming cup of chamomile tea followed by a relaxing hot bath or shower. It can help signal to your brain that it’s time for bed.
Get Moving
Once your body is rested, it’s time to get active! You probably didn’t go to the gym regularly on vacation and that’s okay, everyone needs a break every now and then. But it’s time to get those endorphins pumping and your body moving. While keeping your physical condition in tip top shape, you’re also sweating out some built up toxins through sweating. A two for one deal! Working out again will make you feel that much better.
Go Raw
The margarita and tortilla chip diet from vacation sadly ended and now you’re stuck at home feeling bloated and fatigued. The best thing to do now is to revamp your diet and create the best state to lose excess water weight and toxins. We suggest going all raw. Raw food has kept all its nutrients letting your body absorb all the good stuff. When your body is properly nourished it can remove toxins more easily and effectively. Simple as that.
Have Some Dinner Dates in
To maintain a healthy diet it’s easiest to prepare your meals at home. By doing this you take control of what’s exactly going into your body. Take into consideration the amount of oil and salt you use. The less salt the better, as sodium makes your body retain water. Ultimately, portion control is key. It doesn’t mean you have to be antisocial. Balance eating in and doing your best at eating clean around town. Just remember to pick simple ingredients to go easy on your belly.
Drink Up…Clear Liquids!
Your mom wasn’t kidding about drinking eight cups of water a day. It’s the best thing for you! Traveling can be drying and adding high sodium food and wine to the mix can turn your vacation into a recipe for dehydration disaster. Staying well hydrated helps remove toxins, maintain clear skin and lose weight! It’s recommended that you drink 80 ounces of water a day. If you want to try a detox, we suggest trying the Hibiscus or Kusmi Tea Detox. They are diuretics, which help you lose that stubborn water weight and remove toxins in a healthy way.
Juice it Up
A quick juice cleanse after vacation might be an easy way to restart your body and get rid of some of the water weight and bloating you accumulated while misbehaving a little on your trip. Whether it leads to a detox or not is up for discussion, but it sure helps decrease cravings and makes you feel more energized afterward. The catch? It may be a bit tough on your body at first, so eat healthy, clean and (ideally) raw foods for at least a couple of days before diving into a full on fast! You don’t want to shock your system too much, it’s hard enough to deal with post-holiday blues as is!
I hope you had a great vacation! Now it’s time to get back to your routine. Hopefully, with these tips – it will be a breeze.
